E-UI Attribute

Description

E-UI Attribute is an OUI Extension module that allows you to change the Width (length) of a Product Attribute Text Box as well as the Width and Height of a Product Attribute Text Area (Memo) Box.

With standard Merchant, a Text attribute field is 40 characters wide and a Text Area (Memo) field is 58 characters wide by 10 rows. Because of the length of these Text Attribute fields, Merchant generated pages that utilize one of these attributes will cause a horizontal scroll bar to appear in the customer's Browser because the display width is too large for the screen resolution that most users use (greater than 800 pixels for a Text attribute field and greater than 1024 pixels when using a Text Area field).

Installation

E-UI Attribute is a Merchant Store System Module so it must be installed to each Store that will be utilizing it. Each Merchant domain will need its own, separate License.

Before a Store can utilize E-UI Attribute, it must be installed as a Domain (Mall) Module. The eui-attrib.mv file needs to be placed inside the modules/system directory, which can be accomplished via FTP or by using the Merchant Administration program.

The above diagram shows where the module needs to be placed. It should be noted that the SYSTEM Directory may not exist. If your particular installation of Merchant does not include this directory, under the MODULES Directory, then you must create it.

FTP Install Method

1. Log on to your Web Site via FTP and upload the eui-attrib.mv file to your Merchant2/modules/system directory. Remember that if the SYSTEM Directory does not already exist, you must create it.
2. Close your FTP program and Log on to your Merchant Administration program with your Web Browser.
3. In Merchant Administration, click on the Arrow next to Modules to expand the Modules section. Click on the Add Module link to add E-UI Attribute to the list of available modules.
4. On the Add Module screen, enter modules/system/eui-attrib.mv and then click the Add Button:

5. Click on the Arrow next to Stores to expand the Stores category. Click on the Arrow next to the Store that will be utilizing E-UI Attribute. This will expand the Store categories so that you may install E-UI Attribute for that particular Store.
6. Click on the System Extension Configuration link. Select E-UI Attribute from the next screen and then click the Update Button:

7. E-UI Attribute has now been installed as a Master Module for the Domain (Mall) and as a Store Extension Module. Please see the Configuration section for detailed instructions on using E-UI Attribute.

Administration Install Method

1. Log on to your Merchant Administration program with your Web Browser.
2. In Merchant Administration, click on the Arrow next to Modules to expand the Modules section. Click on the Add Module link to add E-UI Attribute to the list of available modules.
3. On the Add Module screen, click the Upload Button . In the Upload File Window, click the Browse Button and locate the eui-attrib.mv file on your local computer. Check the Overwrite box and then click the Upload Button.

5. Click on the Add Button to add E-UI Attribute as a Master Module for the Domain (Mall).
6. Click on the Arrow next to Stores to expand the Stores category. Click on the Arrow next to the Store that will be utilizing E-UI Attribute. This will expand the Store categories so that you may install E-UI Attribute for that particular Store.

Configuration

To configure E-UI Attribute, click on the System Extension Configuration link underneath the store that E-UI Attribute was installed to. On the System Extension Configuration screen, click the Text Attribute Settings tab to bring up the E-UI Attribute Configuration screen.

Text Box

The Product Attribute Text Box is a single line entry field. Set the Width of the field by typing in the number of characters that it should display. Note that the Width controls only the size of the Text Box, not the number of characters that can be entered. E-UI Attribute will limit the number of characters that can be entered to 254 since this is the maximum amount that this Merchant database field can hold.

Text Area - Memo Box

The Product Attribute Text Area (Memo) Box is a multi-line entry field. Enter the Width and the Height that this Text Area Box should have. The Width is the number of characters wide and the Height is the number of lines that the Box will display.
