Enhanced User Interface
Description
The Enhanced User Interface (E-UI) allows you to take charge of your Miva Merchant
E-Commerce site by providing the options needed to Enhance the User Interface.
The primary goal of the E-UI is to reverse the Ship To and Bill To
sections of your Merchant Store so that customers are prompted for their Billing Information
first. Shipping Information is secondary and needs to be filled out only if it is
different from the Billing Information. In addition to its main objective, the E-UI also
provides a wealth of options to fine tune your store to your specific needs.

The Features described in this Manual apply to the Full Version of the E-UI. The Lite version
contains no configuration options or enhanced features - it simply reverses the Ship To and Bill
To sections and fixes the "Welcome Back" code so that it uses the Billing Name instead
of the Shipping Name.
Features
- Reverses the Ship To and Bill To sections so that Bill To is
presented first.
- Bill To is the primary Customer Information section. Ship To is optional and
only needs to be filled out if different.
- When creating an Account, new customers are presented with, and are only required
to fill out, the Bill To information.
- Customer Information fields (Bill To and Ship To) are arranged in a more logical manner.
- Field labels are not displayed on the Shipping, Payment, and Invoice Screens.
- The State/Province field is required only if a customer selects United States or Canada
for the Country.
- Remove the Other State/Province field. Useful if you only ship to a specific Country.
Forces customer to choose from the States list.
- Force a specific Country.
- Use full Country Names instead of their abbreviations.
- Country Selection does not default to Store Owner's country.
- Company Name and Fax Number are not displayed if they were left blank.
- Remove the Shipping Information section (Ship To) as well as the Shipping
Method selection box.
- Remove Quantity in Basket, Product Code, and/or the Shipping Weight
displays.
- Add a List Price display, change the Selling Price text, and show the Discounted
price.
- Remove, or modify the text of, the Add 1 To Basket, Buy 1 Now, and Add To
Basket buttons.
- Adds space between the Add 1 To Basket and Buy 1 Now buttons.
- Replace Purchase buttons with your own images.
- Change the Purchase buttons to More Info buttons.
- Remove extra blank lines.
- Input fields are limited to the size of their corresponding database fields. Customers
will not be allowed to enter more characters than the database fields allow.
- Give a Default Discount without having to configure a Price Group and add products
to it.
- Add Meta Tags to the generated pages. This includes bringing in Style Sheets and
adding Java Script.
- Include additional text in the Body tag such as Zero Margins.
- Add a Header or Footer to each page.
- Remove the Top Navigation Bar.
- Remove the Category Tree (the "gray box" on the left hand side).
- Keep sub-categories Expanded when viewing Product Information.
- Always display Category Links.
- Replace Mall page with a static HTML page.
- Includes 1022 Button Images.
E-UI Installation & Configuration
Because of the differences between Merchant 2 and Merchant 3, the E-UI configuration is
slightly different between versions.

Merchant 3 Notes
- Image Buttons
- Specifying Image Buttons to replace the Form Buttons is now a standard feature of
Merchant. The E-UI no longer needs to provide these options.
- Category Display
- Merchant 3 allows you to set the Category Display to "List Mode". This display
type is similar to the Product Listing display and the Search display (otherwise known as
a "Line Item" display or "Green Bar" display). The E-UI provides
minimal support for this type of display listing since it is not possible to replace the
Purchase Buttons because these buttons are used elsewhere (the actual Product Listing and
Search Displays).
- Merchant Directory
- By default, Merchant 3 installs itself to a directory called Merchant2 (same as version
2 of Merchant). If you, or your Hosting Provider, installed Merchant 3 to a different
directory such as Merchant3, then you will need to upload/install the E-UI to that
directory instead of the Merchant2 directory that is described in the Installation
section.
