on and is adding many default Enhanced Features. |

| Category/Thumbnail Display |

A Before and After Screen Shot of the Category Tree showing the Category
Footer. Merchant places the Footer underneath the last Category Item where it appears to
be another Category. E-UI places the Footer at the Bottom of the Category Tree and
Centers it. |
 |
Product display screen without the E-UI. Notice that Merchant places the
Category Footer underneath the last Category Item and is not centered. |
 |
Product display screen using E-UI. The Category Footer is at the Bottom of the
Category Tree and is centered. |
 |
Thumbnail Display with the Category gap removed. The gap is the extra space between the
Category Tree and the Product listings. The gap is there for aesthetic purposes but you can
remove it if you want to. |

Merchant 3 notes: You may now replace the standard Form Buttons with your
own images. The Buttons are placed in their own table cells and now have a very small gap
between them, due to the table padding and cell spacing that is used. Because the spacing is
so small and no buttons are provided, the following screen shots and descriptions are
applicable to Merchant 3 as well.
|
 |
With standard Merchant, the Purchase Buttons butt up against each other. |
 |
With the E-UI, extra space is placed between the Purchase Buttons to
separate them and make them more distinctive. |
 |
The same Purchase Buttons, except that Images are displayed instead of the
standard HTML Form Buttons. With extra space between them, of course! |
 |
Thumbnail Display with Buy 1 Now button Removed and the Add 1 to Basket
button changed to a More Info button. Clicking the button brings up the Extended
Display for that product. |

button and a Buy 1 Now button. Clicking the More Info button brings up the

 |
Product Attribute Text Box with standard Merchant. The Text Box is quite long and forces
a screen width larger than 800 pixels (as can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail). |
 |
Product Attribute Text Box with the E-UI. The Text Box is set to a width of 25
characters. You can even make the Text box smaller if you want! |

Product List screen. This is an example showing how the Purchase Buttons can be removed
from all screens when the product price is 0. |
| Customer Signup and Login |
 |
Customer Account Signup - the standard Merchant way. When a customer creates a
new account, Merchant prompts for the Ship To information first and the Bill To
information second. Customers are asked for Ship To information even though all they
are wanting to do is to create a Bill To account with your Store. Click the thumbnail
and make note of the Ship To and Bill To Names. |
 |
Customer Account Signup - the E-UI way. When creating a new account, customers
are asked only for the Bill To information. Since they are not shipping
anything at this point, E-UI doesn't ask them for shipping information. The
fields are also arranged in a more logical order. The account belongs to the person paying
the bill, not the person where orders might be sent. Click the thumbnail and make note of
the Bill To Name. |
 |
Category Display showing the Welcome Back (Customer Account link) message. This
is the standard Merchant generated display with the E-UI turned
off. Notice anything peculiar about the Name? Isn't that the Ship To name?
Click on the thumbnail to see what's wrong here. |
 |
Category Display showing the Welcome Back (Customer Account link) message, this
time using the E-UI. Notice that the Name is different from the one shown above. The
Name is actually the Bill To name - the account holder and the one paying for the
charges! Click on the thumbnail for more details. |
| Purchase Screens |
 |
Customer Information prompts with standard Merchant. Ship To is presented first, Bill
To second. The fields are disorganized and are not presented in the way a person
normally fields out Address information. |
 |
Customer Information prompts with E-UI. Bill To is presented first and a
customer only needs to fill out the Ship To information if an order is to be sent to
a different address. Address fields are presented in a more logical manner. |
 |
Customer Information on the Shipping, Payment, and Invoice screens
the way standard Merchant does it. Field labels are displayed. Ship To and Bill To are
backwards. The Country Code is displayed instead of the Country Name. |
 |
Customer Information on the Shipping, Payment, and Invoice screens
the E-UI way. Field labels are not displayed since customers pretty much know what
their first name and last name are! Company and FAX is not displayed if that information was
not provided. Bill To is presented first. The Country Name is displayed
instead of its Code. |
Please note that E-UI and Merchant differ on who is the shipee and who is the payee. Merchant
considers all customers to be the "shipee". E-UI considers all customers to be the
"payee" and a shipping address is asked for only if the address is different
and only if the site owner wishes. This allows you to remove the shipping portion of your
Merchant store if you sell Reservations or Downloadable Software.
